• I'm looking for mods that will benefit my car and save me money in the long run

I know that some of these mods either are not so good for the life of the car (for example.. nitrous), or are so expensive, that if they did improve gas milage... the cost of the product would not pay for it's self over the life of the car (for example... a new 500 dollar exhaust)

I'm looking to not spend too much, but to help the life of my car and perhaps the performace a bit in the process. The main thing I'm looking at right now is a TransGo Shift Kit since I plan on getting an automatic. I thought about getting a cutout, but the legality of that seems to be very questionable, and I've heard a lot about how it really DOESN'T give good performance unless you leave it open most of the time.

Let me know... I'm looking to help the car last as long as it can without blowing too much dough... I'm really frugal and I'm going to college next year so I don't wanna waste money.

freeing flowing intake will make a little more power and help out with mpg. same goes for exhaust. a free flowing exhaust doesnt have to be loud.

One that I like, is lsd...

I have had a few cars, and the tires wear much more evenly with LSD, even when you are nto peeling out all the time. Just a little more strain is always put on the right side tires.

What year car? I would start by doing some free mods... then work on a cold-air-intake and then an exhaust. The would be your best bet.
Too many mods to list! To see what I have done, check out my car domain website -->
http://www.cardomain.com/id/2k2firebird21

Cheap mods...

Dynomax exhaust system, swap a posi-rearend (with better gear), intake (whisper lid or better).

Free mods...
Backseat delete, FRA, GF/SO delete (weight reduction).

Shift kit on an A4 would be a wise investment (TCC fix valve on 95-00 would also be good).

backseat delete only saves about 5lbs. not worth it.
