  • to those who ported and polished their own throttle bodies...?

what were the results? was it worth the time to do?

im pretty good with a dremel, and have *** loads of bits for polishing and grinding but is this job doable with just a dremel? or do i need something more powerful?

also, if u can find some walkthroughs that would be awesome.

    thanks

Why would you want to reuse it? They cost maybe 5 bucks, and you wouldn't have to worry about it leaking. Hell, you could even use just RTV and not have to buy one if you wanted.

DO NOT reuse the TB gasket.

i've played with porting it, never actually finished...and to be honest there hasn't been a whole lot of difference...but if you polish it up it might help.

Why not re-use the TB Gasket? Do tell, do tell.
And Jonny's guide is very nice and complete, and when he ran on the dyno with the ported TB he had some big numbers. Of course, now he's at 14.0's ...

when i removed the front bar that holds the blade on the TB i polished the whole TB with rubbing compund .. looked like a freakin mirrior when i was done (watched a ball game and polished it to pass the time)

i reused the gasket.. ive had the TB off a few times and have allways used the stock gasket, no problems here
