Wow, only an hour to cut the hole and replace the pump? You're pretty quick.

I'll bet 'ya he was even faster turning the ignition off once he saw the smoke near the gas tank!
Seriously, keep a fire extinguisher near by when firing it up next time!

Ok, I know this is a noob question but reading I have always read that a fuel pump install in our cars require us to drop our rear end, then remove the tank. What is this magical hole you guys are speaking of?

This magical hole we speak of is one that we, ever so carefully, cut into the top of our trunk area right behind the back seat. I took a larger piece of aluminum, weatherstripping, and self tapping screws to cover it up.

usp55, I've been looking at those same wheels forever. They look excellent on your car. Just curious though, but which center cap do you have for them?

Which method of cutting would you suggest?

Using a Dremel or an angle grinder with cutoff wheel, if you're real careful. I would also cover everything to protect against sparks and dust/metal shavings.

thanks, yea i love them and in the boards people always knock tt2's cause everyone has them but i never see anyone with them on an fbody around me and everyone always loves them when i go out. i got them from tomzwheels over on ls1tech. best prices and customer service hands down.
i have the standard american racing caps that come with them. Id go chrome but i hate taking them off in the winter and polished is alittle more work but still shines nice.

update: got it all running now. new fuel pump and TPS. the old TPS had some gray **** in it and didnt rotate as smooth. Oh and i now hold fuel pressure in my system so i know my other pump was bad. and as soon as i fix one problem i see another, under alittle harder than normal braking i hear and sort feel a clunk from my driver side wheel, no idea. but im don working on the camaro this weekend as i had planned to get some things done on the 71 bird. thansk fro everyone's help and input.
