• ICM problems.. :(

Okay, took the ICM off last night to figure out my misfiring issues and there is a TON of corrosion in there... 1 coil is splitting down the side and needs to be replaced, 2 coil bolts snapped off inside the harness and the bolt in the connector that plugs in the back broke off too.

So my question is this... that connecter at the back has teh bolt still in it... does it come out(without breaking anything more?)... it seems to be attached, but it coudl be the rust.

Do I need to replace that whole connector?

    thanks

There's a star washer on the bolt that keeps it from falling off. It sits between theharness connector & the ICM. Spring tension keeps it on. Get a small pair of dykes & just cut it off to remove the bolt & replace both.

Actually we figured that out last night thanks

Picked up a used ICM w/coils and the connector. The nice new shiny bolt in the connector revealed that star washer... so we got out the tin snips and away we went.

      Worked like a charm
