I have had my car for about 4yrs now and it has been nothing but trouble. I have just about replaced everything you can think of short of a rebuild. Now my intake gaskets are leaking and my oil pan gasket is also leaking. I don’t know what to do. Do I fix it or do I get rid of it. I really like driving an F-body every day but some times in St. Louis it is not practical in the winter. Do I get another v6 or do I save a little longer and get a V8? The other question is do I just pull the motor out of the one I have and rebuild? It is a 1997 convertible. Full B4c suspension and Z28 exhaust. Any input would be great.
The body is in good shape and if I would rebuild then I would probably get the car repainted and get some new wheels.

Well I would say it depends on whether you like the car or not is it worth to you a rebuild if not then get rid of it. If it is rebuild it you would have to decide if the car is worth something to you and if you are going to keep the car for the long run. Just my 2 cents.

Drive that car to your grave...junkyard has engines for $400 it seems, well atleast what I've read...while you rebuild, might as well add some power adders... :)

I might just pull the engine and replace thoes gaskets soon as school is over. The car only has 165k. I have seen cars go for well over 200k. might just buy a gasket kit and pull the motor apart and see just how bad off I am. If its not that bad fix the leaks and drive it till i can buy my v8.

i'd say you only have two options:

ls1 swap, or
ls1 swap

can't find one? rebuild and call up the turbo fairy.

I've had many issues with my Camaro since I bought it back in late 07, the drive shaft poped out, I had to replace the transmission 3diffrent times, I had a drain in the system, I had to get the rear diffrental replaced, the fuel pump went

What the car currently needs is a gasket between the engine and tranny, brakes, and maybe suspension work.:work:

I plan on holding onto my Fbody till I get a Lamborghini of somekind weither it be a fieroghini or a real lambo and that could take many years so till then I have to make the best of what I got.:D

Id say deal with it for sometime till something else comes along better.
