• Venom Control Module.....

I was thumbing through the 2002 RKSport catalog that arrived the other day and came across a Venom Control Module for a 97 3.8 Camaro/Firebird!!

I thought there were no computer/chip/controllers made for the 97 V6's....

what exactly does this control module do??? says "adds up to 25% extra horsepower" (yeah, right)

just wondering if this would be a worthwhile mod =)

From what I understand its just a throttle position enhancer. That means when you have the throttle at 75% open, it tells the computer that you're at 100%; you're getting 75%(WOT) air and 100%(WOT) fuel. Venom mostly makes stuff for ricers, I've got their catalog in my room. Nothing for us excpet that stupid module and, I think, injectors to go with the module. The module might do more than that but I can't remember. It's also been brought up on the board a while ago, try a search. I think our conclusion was:

Trust me, it's a waste of money. I got the dyno sheet to prove it. I LOST 1.3rwhp and 1.6rwtq with it switched on. Right now mine is serving as a $300 paperweight.
