  • Imagine my surprise....

I'm flipping through my owner's manual, and as i get to the back, it shows the horsepower and torque ratings of both our beloved 3800 and it's fire-breathing sister, the LS1. same story, 200 HP@5200 RPM for us, 305-320 HP for the v8s, but i get to the torque, and my eyes popped out of my head. there, plain as day, it read " 305 ft.lbs.@4000 RPM - V6", and "335 ft. lbs. - V8". 305 FT.LBS. OF TORQUE? i've seen on the 'net the 3800 is rated at 225 ft. lbs. Is the owner's manual a typo? please tell me it is, or i might faint.

haha that's awesome, people should sue for not giving enough advertised torque (mazda rx8) and make GM give them 305 tq
        that would be sweet

skorpion i dont know if thats a type or not.. my friend had a 98' 3.8L and he always claimed to me it was stock... but that thing was quick he'd smoke my 99' 3.8L and ran with my friends 97' WS6. and at 30mph he'd punch it and get the tires to chirp.. so i dunno if thats typo or your car is just gifted. but if you can cruise at 30 mph and maybe might have to drop it in 1st gear and punch it and chirp the tires.. then i dont think that its a typo.
