I read the write up on how to install the manual fan switch and i decided to give it a try, i got the switch to work however after running the fan on for a while my battery started getting weak even when the car was on so it was not charging i guess:cry:, now the battery doesnt start unless i jumpstart it but drains out quick once i turn on the car. do you think adding the fan could have overloaded the alternator? has anyone that has done this mod experienced any problems with it?

Re: Help!! my cars battery wont charge
Do you have a short in the wire you installed the fan with if so it will bleed drain the Batt. Or it could just be your Batt decided enough is enough and gave up. Test the Alt out put if it is 13 to 15 Volts out put you should be good if less then it is likely the Alt that is bad.

Re: Help!! my cars battery wont charge
Are you sure you didn't leave the fan switch on and it drained your Batt? I haven't had a problem with mine. How old is the batt? Sounds like a dead cell and just needs to be checked like said, and see if it needs a good charge or replaced. Or the Alt. is bad and needs replaced. My batt. runs about 13.2 volts when on and driving and when Caspers V voltage booster kicks on at 70 % throttle it goes up to 14.2-14.4 volts. I run alot of accessories so I expect my readings to be on the low side.08' L76 6.0L 4X4 Chevy EXT.Cab LTZ Vortec MAX with Snug top cover, Dynomax exhaust,Hptuners& K&N intake
