  • New A/C

My compressor is shot, so I'm buying a new A/C system right now.

I've gotten a new compressor, but I still need to get an accumulator and everything else. I don't know exactly what I need to get, so is there a simple list of parts something can give me that I will need to replace the whole system? Thanks.

    Edit: I've got a '97 V6 A4, if that matters.

    Re: New A/C

I would get the check valve the line that goes into the firewall, has a sensor on it and further towards the firewall there is a check valve or might need to call it a reducer, you might need a new A/C assembly hsoe(will come with all rubber seals,Nappa $85) line depending how old yours is, accumulator is good idea(comes with seals also(nappa $30), A/C recharge kit comes with gauge to install freon 3 cans of freon with 2 ounces of oil in each can and stop leak, worked great for me, Nappa $55 need to do it on a nice dry hot day. Make sure when you install the freon you have the A/C on max so the high fans trun on, it sucks the freon in better. I just did mine like a month ago and mine is a 96' A4. It is blowing a nice 30-40 fegrees out the middle vent and thats where you check the temp reading on how cold it is blowing is always the middle vent.
