i have the firebird 98 5-speed and my problem is that my oil pressure will be fine one minute at 60 and the next thing you know its at 120 then just instantly drops back down?

Sending units are cheap and pretty easy to screw in. It is located just above the harmonic balancer. Keep your fingers crossed that you didnt spin a bearing. That can cause a spike in oil pressure also.

hopefully it is the sending unit and is there any way of finding out if it is a spun bearing ? before hand?Comment
