I just bough a 98 firebird convertible about 2 months ago and have had nothing but trouble with it. anyways, It was running rough, missing, so I got new plus and wires, ran worse, replaced the coil pack, ran even worse. anyone have any guesses? plugged cat or oxygen sensors maybe? It wont run long enough to make it out of the driveway.
Make sure you don't have the plug wires mixed up. I did that on my wife's van and felt like a moron when I took it to the dealer and they told me the problem. It's easier to mix them up than you think.
I took it to the shop to have them put plugs and wires on it, and the mechanc who worked on it told me it was probably the cil pack, so I changed all that myself and triple checked that all the wires were in the right spots. It just feels like it builds up pressure to the point where it wont even drive. I'm just gonna cut the cat off and see what happens.
we had a horrible miss changed plugs wires coil pack icm nothing helped it... i gutted the cat and changed the fuel filter at the same time cleared right up not sure which of the 2 that is was that fixed it but you might wanna try the fuel filter since its a 7$ part if not gut the cat.
Vacuum leak maybe or the CAT, feel the exhaust if you get it started to feel if there is exhaust coming out.

Make sure the passenger side vacuum hose is on the TB should look like a boot, it would throw a Evap emisson code if it was off also, trace that line to the evap box to see if any leaks, pass. side of TB and goes down behind the Alt.

I would double check it or put a good line on it for a couple of bucks instead having duck tape on their because it could be leaking.

Might want to check the map sensor line and the line going to the FPR behind the engine to rule out all the Vac. lines.

I took it back to the shop, all the codes are gone except for the random cylinder misfire, I explained to the guy what all I did, and he said that it has to be the control module that the coils sit on top of and plug into. So there goes another $130.
Still trying to find oil leak on my Camaro, it’s a tough one. I think it is the oil pressure sender myself. Leaking when raving and going into boost....
