when my car is off, the oil pressure gauge shows pressure, then when the electricity is on, the oil pressure gauge goes down(off). and then when i turn on the engine, the pressure returns. is this normal? if it is, sorry hadnt noticed it until i started looking cause i changed my oil today. thanks
EDIT: sorry, i forgot to mention that i have a 2000 and an A4
it's not actually reading pressure, it's just the way it sit's at rest with the tension the spring in the needle motor gives. when you turn the key to ON...it will start reading --- 0. then crack and back to ON --- normal operation.
some gauges don't zero out when they are off.
