  • Coolant sensor??

My sergeant (at work) has a '99 T/A and the "low coolant" light sometimes comes on, and sometimes doesn't. I checked the rad and the reservoir, and they're both full.

Has anyone had a defective sensor before? Also, it's located on the passenger side of the radiator...right? I'm guessing it should be an easy fix.

    Re: Coolant sensor??

Haven't had this problem on my car, but my mom had it on her VW... on hers, though, it actually gave a warning that the car was overheating, but it was just programmed to say that if the coolant level in the reservoir got too low... you could try bleeding the air out of the system, I don't know where the sensor's located... If no change, then move on to the sensor...
Rebuilding the engine... Building a custom front end... T-top conversion... Custom rear hatch..
    Custom interior...

its pretty common. ya located on the passenger side. its not a cheap part though, i think its like 70 bucks or something rediculous. tell him to just unplug it and the light wont come on anymore. mines been unplugged for 3 years now without an issue.

I tried to tell him to just ignore it for a while, but he's going out to buy a new one anyways. I'll be installing it in a few hours. Autozone has it listed for $51.99.

        Thank you :D
