How necessary is traction control?

Does it at least have LSD?? I don't think you really need it, but it's nice to know it's there. But it has a delayed reaction, meaning it takes a little spin before it kicks in. I had my traction control on when it was raining b4 and I spun a little when I was changing lanes causing me to fish a bit to the left and right. I wasn't even gassing it. How did people get to the snowy mountains and thru heavy snow b4 traction control? B4 frt wheel drive? just make sure you got some good snow tires.1999 Pewter Camaro M5
Y87 Performance Package, Sport Appearance Package, Diamond Clears
Factory SS Hood, Free Ram Air Mod, Whisper Lid w/ K&N Air Filter
CarSound Cat 94009, B&B Tri-Flo w/ Quad Tips
BMR SFC, BMR STB, KVR Blank Rotors, Hawk HPS Pads
Black Painted Calipers w/ CAMARO Decal, 245/50 Dunlop SP Sport 5000
20% Rear 35% Side Tint, Red Reflective Inlays, Invincishield
Young girls avert their eyes, weak men tremble, Ford dealers faint.

I've never had traction control, and to be honest, it's not an option I would ever select when buying a car.
If it was standard equipment then I would make sure that it could be either turned off or disconnected.96 Teal Firebird
Colchester, Essex, UK
www.centrestage.free-online.co.uk

Traction control wasn't even available in 3.4s. A quick search would have shown that the Traction light is your ABS.Matt
