  • How do I find the build date for my 1999?

I searched for a VIN decoder or the words "date code" and came up empty, so...

I'm planning on replacing my front rotors, and the vendor wanted to know if my car was built "before or after October" because they supposedly changed the rotors sometime during the production year.

The final numbers on my VIN are 25,326 but I don't know how to look up the date from the build number.

    Thanks for any assistance...

Open your door and look on the inside just below the locking mech. and you'll see at least two placards. You'll find the cars MFG date in the upper left hand corner. If your car was painted, there's a good chance that it got painted too. If placard isn't there, check the right door and glove box. If you still don't have any luck, just call the dealer, they should now. Good luck!
