"Popping the clutch"? WTF were you doing?

Where is the car now? How did you get home to post on the net? Out of gas? Throw the belt? What year is your car ...

popping the clutch there is nothing wrong with that. well anyways its 98 didnt pop a belt or anything like that. got out didnt smell anything as to a head gasket blown or any kind of smoke or oil burning. i had a buddy pick me up and now the car is at my friends house.

Still have battery juice? See if it threw any codes before the meltdown.

yeah sounds like your fuel pump went kablooey.. (that's a technical term by the way) easy way to check have a buddy lie down by the tank and you turn the key to the "ON" position listen for it coming on. no noise no pump, check the fuse before dropping the tank though just in case

I have the same problem on my 99 auto. It's been randomly stalling for the past month, all the times it has been while driving. I can hear the fuel pump turn on when I start the car, what else could it be? I took it to a mechanic and he said I had a few plugs corroded and a fan belt on its way out...anyone else with any ideas?
