• Hard time starting.

Well today I found out my fuel pump is going out. It is going to cost me $750 to get it fixed because my exhaust was welded on and did not use clamps. When ever the car sat for a while it would be hard for it to start up. Wierd thing is that I was getting bad gas mileage. So if anyone is thinking of getting an exhaust have the place use exhaust clamps to install it.

Good Lord! You can just cut it off, replace the pump yourself, then buy a MIG welder to put it back together. That should save you about a hundred bucks and buys you a new welder. You might want to look into a new mechanic as well.

Hey zlightning my pump is going out too, yeah i have hard starting a lot of the time. and they traced it back to the pump. I know you can get the pump asembly from http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/ just ask your dealership to give you the part #, cuz i asked them how much the part was and they were like 400 bucks so i was like well ill think bout it. I got the # and searched that web site and if you buy the part from gm direct it is only bout 200 bucks :D still alot, but bout half the price for the same exact part. I know that is what i am going to do, cuz i need to get mine fixed real soon

Heh using the good ole search feature. Trying to figure out this problem they are also having. My car used to seem to have too low of voltage to turn of well enough to start, but when I got my new alt and new battery that problem stopped now it turns over fast enough and all but it just seems like nothing is going on for a few cranks, then after a while the oil pressure gauge starts moving and then it half *** starts. Anyone got any tips? I am going to check on my fuel filter, but from this people seem to think its the pump.
