  • Car wobbling bad :-( HELP

Today when I was driving after coming out of a turn my car started wobbling in the front, and after thinking I remembered my Steering Rack n Pinion had been leaking, but latley it hasn't leaked anymore and now my car is wobbling. Is it possible that my rack is getting worse? Can it pop or Snap? How much time do u guys think I have before somthing serious happens?

I wouldn't drive it until you figure out what's wrong... if your tie-rod or something goes out, anything could happen... my uncle lost a tie rod in his truck and his wheels pigeon-toed... luckily he was on a side-street only going like 25mph

Does it wobble back and forth or is it more of a vibration? Does it seem to be caused by either R or L wheel more?

Man its really hard to tell I think It might be the right wheel though because when my fat friend got in the car it didn't rock side to side as hard, How much is that to get fixed?

well, we have to diagnose the problem before you can get a price.

go grab the right and left wheels (one at a time) at 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock shake it side to side. like you are trying to turn the wheel, if you hear a noise or feel it move relatively easy, then stop, its more than likely a tie rod. get a buddy to do it while you go under and see what is amking the noise.

it is the front of the car yes?? not the back wobbleing? have you hit a curb? could be a bent wheel

You need sway bar links and tie rod ends, then get an alignment.

Jack the car up, and have the front end on jackstands, move the wheels side to side with your hand while under the car and see where your getting the play from.

Id also pull the wheels off and check your studs, make sure you havent broken any studs or have any loose lugnuts.

Yeah, jacking the car up will make it easier to diagnose than leaving it on the ground.
