Ok, I am going to race a 95 M5 3.4 Camaro in May, and want to be at least 90% confident that I can beat him. I have a K&N FIPK, some kind of dual exhaust, and a B&M shiftplus. What do I do next? I dont want nitrous or forced induction, or headers. Any ideas or suggestions? I want to be like this and him like this

I was under the impression that upgrading coils, plugs, and wires was pretty useless. I heard that you do not get any extra power from it, but I guess I am wrong. And a driveshaft would free up extra hp lost on the way to the wheels right? How much more expensive is an aluminum one compared to steel? Ok. Aluminum driveshaft is about 200-300 installed. Remove your spare tire and jack. get a whisper lid for 125, remove your maf screen, and raise your air box. Thsi will give you better throttle response off the line as well as more hp/tq. A exhaust cut-out installed for about 50 will help reduce backpressure for better throttle response and more hp/tq as well. you can get a jet chip or HPP3 for 300-350 and get firmer shifts, more spark advance, removed rev limiter, adj. shift points, and compensate for gear changes. wider rear tires will help off the line as well as a limited slip diff. from slponline.com for 90. tires you can get for 100 a piece or so. Hey Spookydink, it might help if we knew what year YOUR car is. If it is a 94, which I am assuming from your user name, you won't have to worry about the whisper lid mods. Info would help.- Josh
If you have any questions or need installation pics/help, e-mail me: Viper98885@aol.com
\'93 Camaro Hardtop
\'01 Lincoln LS8 Sport
\'00 Yamaha YZF-R6
Full Throttle Performance

Spootydink:
I'll save you a lot of time. If you are not interested in building a system, and want the most bang for the buck to beat this guy, get gears and LSD. That will give you the seat of the pants feeling. If your tires are bald, get stickier ones. You can do that other stuff later if you want. Don't remove maf screen. Do the gears soon, and you'll have them "broke in" just in time to beat him.

Ok whisper lid doesn't exist get a cold air intake. Can't raise the airbox there isn't one same with the MAF screen. Cut out will hurt you V6's need the back pressure to have any torque. Go for HPP3 if you can find one it is way better than the Jet chip. Coils will help a little not so much on power but better efficency. The BEST mod you can get is the LSD slp has them on sale right now for $85 I believe. I ordered my best friend that part for his 89 T/A in mid February and I'm still waiting for it to be delivered! I called them and they said that it's sent as soon as the order goes through. I guess since I am in CT, they will have someone deliver it to me on foot... cuz it's taken more than a month for a 3 and a half hour drive :mad:Sean: 1994 Camaro daily driver

So how much time could I take off of my 1/4 mile with LSD? With 3.42s? With both?
