  • When to change plugs & wires

just wondering when is the suggested mileage to change the plugs & wires on my 97 3.8

I have just about 54k miles on it, I bought it used 4 months ago with 38k miles.

I know old/bad plugs effect performance quite a bit, in fact im HOPING I have bad plugs...that would explain my crappy ET's at the track.

I change mine every year minimum but I'm not right in the head :D
    Maybe 20-30000 miles?

yeah i plan on spraying. Once my LSD/Gear order arrives from SLP.

Im sure u've heard about my bad luck w/ SLP right??? I ordered a ton-o-crap from them on March 7th and STILL have not gotten the order!

SLP is basically the only thing holding me back from getting the 3.42's/LSD in...

my 75shot kit is sitting here, collecting dust!!! DAMN SLP!!!

I *might* be wrong, but doesn't a '97 K motor use platinum plugs??? Those are good for 100,000 miles.

Wires also typically last at least 100,000 miles but those K motors are notorious for plug wires arcing to the boot shield and causing a miss.
