i just replace the headlight motor gear with the aluminum one. It worked well for the first few days. Now the thing wont move. I tried to raise it manually by the knob but it wont budge so i use a socket wrench and it loosens the knob so i can move it with my fingers and isnt stuck anymore. to add to that as soon as i loosen it with the socket and use the switch to raise the headlights it goes up and down perfectly but when i try to put them back up again it doesnt move. No grinding noise Btw. What could be wrong?

    Re: Headlight motor

As many threads as you post about problems, i would sell the dang thing.

As per question, does the motor make any noise at all, like its trying to move but binding??

        Re: Headlight motor

I replaced my vinyl with aluminum 8 years ago. Check and see if the gear is off track. Sometimes the housing is opening up because the glue won't hold it close. I used a clamp to close mine and I haven't had any problems with headlights anymore.

Just another thought: Remove the whole headlight assembly too and inspect that arm(motor to headlight) that guides it from moving up and down. There might be something wrong with that.
