hah, you were just sloshing it away from the pickup with those speeds.
It was fun, was with Meatyshells hitting over 100 on the side roads. Until my nitrous switch went out.

The PSI is about 60 at start up and then after driving it just drops according to the interior gauge all the way down to just about or on the orange line at idle. The mechanical gauge is giving me some reassurance that things might be ok and that maybe i had a faulty sending unit or something. I have a new sending unit going on probably in about 7-8 hours from now.
Good to hear, just keep a eye on it and check with the mechanical gauge with your oil changes would be a good idea so you can see if it is going to drop more.

ok, so the new sending unit is installed and is reading about 60-70 psi at cold start and when on the gas. When its warm the gauge reads about 45ish. I think I just had a faulting unit when i replaced it the 1st time. Is it alright that im running 10w-40 Mobile One full synthetic in it though? The manufacturer says 10w-30.

It's absolutely fine. I'm running 10w-40 valvoline maxlife. SSMS is running like 15w40 I think. You'll have no problems at all.
I run Royal Purple 20w50 and it is fine as long as you don't live where it gets like below 20 degrees you should be fine if it gets cold then switch to some winter 10w30 oil, I'm getting ready to mount my remote dual oil filters which will increse my oil supply to 6 qts., should be good for filtration and the engine. I just fixed my radiator problem, I hope so moving on to next project.

I live in Buffalo, NY and in the winter we can see single digits sometimes lower. Plus lots of snow, so im excited to drift in the parking lots with my friends. But I'm not to excited for the road salt to kill my car:(
So i went ahead and replace my oil pressure switch and also changed my oil using 10w30. No change in loosing oil pressure, would this be a sign that my oil pump is going out?
Basher, i didn't see on here where you tested with the mechanical gauge... did you? I just see where Rangersltw did his. If you have not tested with a mechanical gauge, it's imperative that you do so. You will never know what the true pressure is unless you do this. Don't trust that sending unit.
