Engine takes long to crank

My engine takes about 3-4 secs to crank then a puff of black smoke comes out the exhaust. A mechanic told me i had a fuel injector leaking. He looked at my fuel injectors and replaced one that was leaking, it helped a little but it still takes along time to start. It only does this when the engine has sat for a couple of hours.

changed plugs,wires,intake gasket....
what else could cause this or do you think there is another injector leaking that he did not find.

THERE IS A small PUDDLE OF GAS IN FRON OF THE DRIVER'S SIDE MIDDLE INJECTOR(the one i just had replaced)
Is the fuel injector o-rings causing the leak?

What condition are the coils in? Are they all equally resistive? Its not normal for a GM to take longer than 1-2 turns to crank unless its SUPER cold.

In the summer mine takes 1/4 rotation to start.

I would think the cause of the extended cranking for start-up would be the lack of fuel. Could be a leaking injector or possibly fuel pressure regulator. Either way, the fuel pressure that is normally maintained after engine shutdown is depleating somewhere. Have your fuel pressure checked at the rail and at the regulator. If you see the pressure bleeding down, there's your problem. Could also be the lack of spark. If you're blowing black smoke, that could be an indication that your cylinders are actually getting flooded. Hense, too much fuel. I would probably lean towards the second of the two though. Have your coil checked like said before, and the plugs and wires. Be sure to check the plugs for a color. If they're white, you're lean and probably have a fuel pressure problem. If they're black, your rich and probably have an ignition problem. If they're a reddish brown.....post another thread.. ;)

The puddle is not good. Sounds like an o-ring. Could have been caused when the injector was changed... Fire hazard.

Any leakdown while the car is sitting, can let the rail run dry, then it has to push the air out when you restart.

Typically an injector will leak down through the nozzle and into the intake. If you are leaking around an o-ring though, you would get the same result.

The puddle is from a radiator leak...
They said i need to replace all my injectors, What are the signs of a bad Fuel pressure regulator?
