My drivers side window (after giving out and struggling to go up all summer) has finally died. It will go up only a few inches and die out for a while. Is it the window motor or regulator?
Now since this spring I have noticed that when I put the window down, it would grab onto the weather striping somehow and pull it down with the window. What the hell is causing this? I believe the stress from catching the weather striping is what screwed up the window motor.
Not exactly sure weither its motor or regulator but I helped my girlfriends dad do her power windows in her bird and when she put her driver window all the way up was still a quarter inch crack from the stripping which was caused by the mounting rivets for the gear and motor were worn from the torque of the motor and they literally moved from their original riveted spot in the fiberglass. Pretty much if you have removed your door panel yet i would just to see if anything noticeable goin on in there. I have manual windows and when it went halfway up on passenger it would get hard to push up it was actually caused by that triangle the sideview mirror sits on was leaning toward rear of car and was pinching window could be numerous things.
Before replacing the motor, spray silicone lubricant on the channels that the window rides in. You will probably have to remove the door panales to do this. On my beater, the windows were doing the same thing. Now they work fine, have have been for over a year.
How do these window motors usually last when replaced? Cause I replaced mine last year and now my window won't roll down it just makes a sound like it wants to but doesn't.

They can last a month....or they can last several years. All depends. Pick up my new motor from autozone, comes with a warranty, so if it craps out after a year like the last one, I'm going back and hopefully get it replaced for free.
Mine was a friggin' nightmare to replace! I'm sssoooo glad I don't have to worry about those POS window motors anymore! If I still had my camaro today, it would have already been converted to manual windows.
Use the instructions provided and it is not too bad I do suggest however that you purchase the rivets that hold the regulator in as well as mentioned it may have wore lose and need to be re-riveted. And I say yes use the rivets as some idiot replaced the motor in my wifes Fbird before I bought it and used bolts well blots loosen even faster then the rivets and wear nice oblong holes when they loosen up. I menaged to Jerry rig the regulator and re rivet it but I do have to either repair the door properly or replace it before I do final assembly on the restomod I am doing. As the window still leaked a bit and that was due to not having the proper alighnment of the regulator. Oh and you will need the Big *** rivet gun as well as the rivets are 1/8 and 1/4 inch shaft.

I don't know what to do...now my driver's side headlight is acting up. I turn the lights on and it doesn't come up, I turn them off and back on and it will finally come up. Sometimes I have to do it 3 or 4 times for it to pop up.
Not much going on, replaced my Kenwood double din stereo with a Pioneer double din, the Kenwood had problems. Then replaced my power inverter for my reverse...
Hi all new to the community here. I have a 2014 RS 6 speed manual... and so about a year ago my tail lights got cracked and eventually the plastic housing...
