• Car bogs down or chokes!

Alright... my car started "hopping" on me or boggin down. we replaced the fuel filter which only lessened the problem. it still hops at normal driving, but repeatedly hops and chokes when im under load, i.e. in fifth gear going up a hill pushin down on the gas. just seems 100 times worse that way. What could be the problem? fuel injectors or some god knows what sensor? please help!

mine just started too (70k miles).

change your spark plugs and wires. seems to be a common problem when one of them goes bad.

Same thing here. Replace the wires and plugs while you are down their. Some of the plugs will have damage from the faulty wires. Mine did at 50K. You can get a custom set of wires for around $40

Same thing happend to my 98 at about 55K. I ended up having the plugs, wires, and ignition coil replaced. On the diagnostic it was reading as a "Random Misfire". Luckily they covered it all under the extended warranty.

There was also a recall on the plug wires for I think it was 96 to 99 v6 fbodies.

Definitely spark plugs/spark plug wires. Had the same problem when my car hit 60,000 or so. Felt like it was choking...Going slow was fine, but when I got on it, there was popping from the exhaust and really, really slow acceleration, and plenty of hopping, like something was holding it back. Replaced plugs and wires, and ran stronger than ever.

If not your wires and plugs change the coils I bought 3 coil packs from summit (MSD coil packs) for about $38 each I would change those anyway *shrug* Yes you'll have to jack up your car to reach all the plugs unless you have super flexible arms you'll never reach the passenger back plug I got all but that one, from the top of the engine
