  • Any info on single exhaust Cutout hp gains?

Obviously it gets rid of fumes quicker, less mpg, and is louder...but I was debating down the road whether or not to buy a cutout (electronic on/off) and install it or is it worth it?

Any personal V6 camaro/firebird experiences good :burn: or bad :(?

My current setup is a flowmaster dual exhaust but no intake mods yet

    Thanks

Is yours a true dual from eah header all the way back or just dual exhaut tips from the muffler, flowmaster 80 series. I just redid mine , My old muffler was a Dynomax Super Turbo muffler 3" in/out with a 3" turn down out back, along with my VS cam, RK Sport headers, 3" exhaust, no cat, mandrel bent exhaust over the axle. Now I added a Dynomax Super Turbo 3" in/ and 2- 2 1/2"'s out I did the 90 degrees on the 2 1/2' pipes out back with 2 Gibson stainless 3" turn downs, just sticking about 1" out back. The exhaust is much deeper than the single 3" turn down and sounds 10X's better. The supporting mods make the exhaust sound alot better. I have had flowmaster 80 series, 40 and this sounds the best so far after about 6-7 mufflers I have had. A 3" exhaust is the way to go if gettting a exhuast.

I bought the camaro with the flowmaster on it already and from what I can tell they just put a flowmaster muffler single in/dual out so I was thinking of putting a cutout before or after the cat

i have an stainless e-cutout right off the i-pipe before the rear axle---it's perfect IMO.

with my headers and full exhaust it's loud as hell but it sounds damn good, i get lots of v8 inquiries with it. but anytime i want quiet, i close it and it's smooth and doesn't draw attention.

mine is a Badlanz cutout, and it wired up flawlessly and i have the switch hidden in my center console tucked under the removable ash tray---very stealth.

my dyno proved little difference open/closed (about 1hp/tq), but i also have a different setup than you. i'd highly recommend one though you'll love it.

Should I take out the cat or leave it in? Since it's 3" from motor to cat then 2.25"/2.5" out what would you do in this case?

          Thanks for the info

i would leave in the cat if you're still running stock piping after. i have in a 3" high flow with my full exhaust and the cutout is right before the axle, so it is much less raspy than catless or running the cutout closer to the y-pipe.

personally, i would look into a 3" s-pipe and i-pipe and running the cutout in there. your local exhaust shop could fab it up in no time.

I run catless on mine and it still sounds good , so it would just be up to you if you want to.
