My car (1996 Firebird w/ 123k miles) would start bogging down after it warmed up especially after 3k rpm and has progressively worsened. I have an ses light with the P0147 which is a code for the post catalytic o2 sensor. i replaced the sensor and car is still running the same. could this be telling me that i need a new catalytic converter. its not glowing red and i dont think i hear it rattling but its the only thing i can think of. does this code sometimes indicate this. Thanks for your help
Is there anyway i could test it before i pay someone to install one. a friend also told be to bang on it a couple of times to loosen up any clogs but i dont want to start any other problems
