3 inch I pipe

Does anyone know where I can find a 3 inch Intermediate pipe? From cat to muffler without having to buy a whole new cat back.

Pretty sure that's 2.75".

Summit also has a 3" over-axle too. Or you can get it all from Rock Auto for a little cheaper.

yea z28 is a 2.75. and it has those nasty ridgy bends in it.

For a full catback, you'll also want a bigger diameter S-pipe. Not many sell them, but you can get a U-bend pipe and cut it in half, turn one side, then weld. Here's an old but good thread about it. There are also a few good threads with more info and links, but you might have to search a little more for those.

SLP option camaros, with slp exhaust or 20tl will have 3" I-pipe.

With the mods you have listed on your users page, a 2.5 I pipe will do just fine. The factory 2.25" pipe has an area of 3.97 square inches. A 2.5" pipe has an area of 4.90 sq in. The 2.5" pipe can flow nearly 25% more than the 2.25" pipe.

A small change in diameter is a big change in area. Going to a 3" pipe is not going to buy much if any more performance than a 2.5" for your mods.

i did this with my full 3" exhaust bc my borla catback didn't come with an s-pipe (after all that damn money :mad:). cut the U in half, flip it, and weld it --- turned out perfect.

Thanks, ill probably start this when it gets a little warmer out. Hopefully go with a nice 3 inch cat too. Have any of you guys bought that magnaflow carsound of of GVperformance? I think its like $70. The guy at the perf shop said he would charge me like 300, so i figured id just do it myself cause im def not spending that much money for a high flow cat.

The Magnaflow cat is a popular choice for our cars. And at a good price too. I'd say go for it.

Yea, magnaflow probably has the best hi flow cat. The guy at your shop probably was thinking you wanted the direct repalcement kind, not universal.
