I managed to pick it up for under $300. I was looking for a whisper lid, but the only places that have them now want over $200 or so for them which just wasn't worth it.

There is a noticeable difference in the way it drives and a huge difference in the way it sounds. Enough to be exciting, but we're only talking a 5% or so increase (~7 rwhp). Haven't gotten to go out and really push it yet though as I've been on baby duty all weekend.

damn haha, yea its a good start for future mods. Finding those under 300 is hard to do, so when you do, you gotta jump on it. Im almost positive i order the last whisper lid ever made haha.

Personally i think it is one of the better Intake Kits. It has done good buy me and seems to support the rest of my build quite well. I wouldn't use anything else. And i love the way it looks. ;)

i really wanna get the k&n but dont want to dump the money so stock with a k&n filter is k for now :(

you can grab the slp cai for really cheap and then do the !air silencer, shaved lid, and pvc intake mod. saves a ton and still picks up some gains.

The sites I looked at when comparing prices showed it fitting 1998-2002 models, however K&N's site does not show one for the 1998 like it does for the other models.
