What mufflers sound good on trucks?

A little off topic post. Im buying my brothers old pick up cause I am in need of a truck. Its a 97 chevy 1500 with a 350 vortech. The truck is straight piped, true dual exhaust 2.5 all the way from the headers to 3 inch tips at the corner of the bumper, sounds good untill it hits about 3500 rpms then crackels so I wanted to know what mufflers you have on your trucks or what you think sounds good.

i have a 4.3 s10 with a glass pack on it nothing else. its pretty quiet and just gives a little rumble.

put two flo pros on it, cheap and sound decent on the older chevy trucks

But I vote magna flow... then again ive only heard it on a brand new dodge..

flo pro is a really common one, probably best bang for your buck

Everyone around here seems to have Flowmaster on their trucks. But if those have the same issues as the style we use, I'd say go with Magnaflow.

Im not a big fan of glass packs, dont like the way they sound. I was looking at some flowmasters. I dont want to quiet it up a lot, just get rid of the crackle. Ill check out flo pros.

Is it a done deal on that truck? Why not go 99+ to get more power, better ride, better fuel economy, etc?

anyways.. magnaflows sound pretty good on trucks IMO. not real loud but have a good tone to them.

obviously they wont sound like a 6. but that doesnt necessarily mean better either.

ive heard a vortec truck with borla's and it was pretty damn mean sounding, although a bit to loud for my taste.

an ex of mine's dad had a gmc with a borla setup that sounded mean, i was always a big fan. i've heard plenty of flowmaster trucks that fit the bill too, but borla has my vote anyday :D
