As you all know, or should know, im cheap lol I try to design the craziest designes possible to gain performance without emptying your pocket.:stp::tup:
I took the stock radiator shroud from a 97 car. and the air box from a 97 camaro. bought a k&n filter for it (30) bucks.
i drilled out the box (put holes in it)
i then took a flex piece off a ls1 camaro (its about 4 inches long) (its between the air filter and the throttle body)
took off all the stock intake stuff on my 98 camaro
i got a turbo diesal intake tube off a peter build semi. (same exact diameter as airbox hole.
I put the ls1 piece on the throttle body of my 3800 and put a whole in it where the air temp senser goes. i then pointed it straight down and had the diesal intake hose in it (ive always cut it to length by now which is about 14 inches long.
i then sat the box on top of the sway bar and zip tied it down. (with the open end of the box facing the ground.)
i put the end of the intake hose on the box and BAM.
i took it for a drive and NOTICED> an OMG difference. probably about 15 horsepower difference from stock at high speed. and probably a 8 hp difference around town.
pics coming soon.
