i was going to take of the heat shields to install my headers but the nut holding it down was stripped. i tried using vicegrips with no success. does anyone have any idea how to remove the nut?

yea chisel it off with a punch or something. A decent sized hammer will do. Or cut it off. Those heat shields will have you cussing up and down by the end of the day. lol

punch and hammer, or cutting wheel or anything just to bust it off. Don't worry about trying to save it

Small pistol and shoot it off.. anything solid with a sharp end you can use to knock it, hit like like you mean it!Wait, Is that a V6 or V8?
