I have tried absolutly everything I can think of, and my Y pipe bolts just continue to work themselves loose every single time. Anyone have any suggestions that I can do to prevent my Y-pipe bolts from coming loose and causeing an exhaust leak/rattling like hell? My mechanic suggested welding the bolts, but I dont like this idea since I may need to remove the bolts at some point when doing work on the car....

Have you tried a lock washer and two nuts on the bolt?

Use lock tight or some copper RTV on them , they won't back off then. Then you'll just have to peel the copper RTV off to get the bolts off. They also make the stage 8 locker header bolts for flanges bow too, thats worth a shot.

Yes, once its dried, the rtv should keep the nut in place so it doesn't shake loose and back out. But if you need to get it off , you'll have to loosen it a little and then get rid od the extra rtv build up until it totally loose, if not the nut would just get full of rtv and won't back down.
