  • Quiet the exhaust

I would like to know how I can quiet down my exhaust? When I bought the car it came with flowmaster muffler/with dual exhaust. It is also missing a catalytic converter. I asked some guys at the muffler shop and they said putting a cat in will quiet the car down. Someone else said just put a stock muffler and it will solve it. What should I do? I think it sounds like a ricer when stepping on it because it is a V6. Lame, I know.

You've already answered your own question. Put stock exhaust on it from a junkyard or something.

Ok, I just wanted to make sure. I see and read different opinions from everyone but I really don't know who to ask. I have wasted a lot of money on this car but I don't want to give up just yet. lol

Just add a resonator, I added a deisel resonator 4Long X 6Round X 3"s in/out total 6's long, looks like a big CAT ,so if someone looks for a cat they will think it is one. This thing took out all my rasp, and I run RK headers, VS cam ,3" exhaust with a Dynomax Bullet race muffler before the axle with 3" turn down , its loud but not raspy loud, even on revs and shifting at 6000 RPMS.

I agree with those who say put a cat back in. It will (1) substantially quiet the exhaust and (2) reduce the pollution you are spewing. Get a hi-flow cat.

ditch that blowmaster muffler. these cars are gonna rasp, its hard not to. But flowmasters suck, especially above 3k rpms. Go with borla or maybe a summit turbo muffler.

ok I will try a high flow cat and put a stock muffler back in. I want it to be quiet as possible, this car is slow so what's the point lol.
