  • Leak from head to EGR

I seafoamed my topend yesterday and noticed smoke pouring from under my hood as well as out of the exhaust. it is coming from that "tube" that is coming from my header to the EGR valve.
How big of a deal is this?

Its an easy fix, but it can be hard to find a gaskets for the egr. You can unbolt it and put some hi-temp rtv sealant on it. Just make sure you let it cure before you start the engine.

tried a quick patch job to test the waters. The car ran like a dream, no more ticking, steady oil pressure reading. It was great until it got warm, then the leak resurfaced and smelled bad. Quick Steel dont smell great to begin with but when it gets burning, it is awful.
anywho, does anyone know what this part is called? it runs from my header to EGR valve. Is it just the tubing , or is it the whole assembly the EGR bolts into?

        The lower hose assembly?

They are only designed to be used 1 time. That means that when you install headers, it doesn't really sit flush. You should be able to find it on GM Parts Direct.
