  • Question for a noob

I really dont know a whole lot about cars, so I feel kinda dumb asking stupid questions but any who,

I have a 97 automatic camaro v6, if i put it in neutral and try to rev the engine the rev only goes up a little over 4000 rpms, no matter how hard i floor it. It just bounces and its like its not getting enough air or somthing to give it more power...

I no this isnt a serious problem, but i feel like somthing may need to be cleaned or somthing. The car just goes up to 4000 rpms then bounces on it no matter how much i push the petal. And since its an automatic i know it doesnt matter as much, because i start out in drive, i just feel like somthing may be limiting the power my car can produce.

Any help would be appreciated, and im not sure if this is an easy fix or not, i dont know a whole lot about cars so thanks for understanding :D

Word. It's there so you don't blow the engine up.

        /thread.

rev limiter... it will do that in park or neutral if your not moving, but at least in my car if im rollin (in neutral) doin at least 25, i guess i never look if im goin that slow. It will go all the way up, tho i don't ever hit the actual 7k rev limiter, tho you can if you want too i guess. now we can say... /thread.
