Re: Oh no... I didn't want this

My muffler is a Flowmaster 80 series. Part #42583. It has a nice deep tone even at rpm's. No raspyness to it at all.

all of these recommendations are good, you just have to experiment with it to get what you like.

Also keep in mind that you just got this exhaust system installed, give it a few thousand miles and it will tone down a bit and sound a little better.

X2 to the Flowmaster listed above ^. I have a Flowmaster 80 series with my cat and I'm thrilled with the sound. Obviously in higher RPMs you'll have some rasp but it isn't bad underload. Free revving is a different story.

          The sound is addictive.

I've had a Dynomax super turbo muffler with stock 2.25" piping and 2.5" dual tailpipes for about 3.5 years now and it sounds great. One thing I did notice is that after a couple hundred miles of driving and getting the fiberglass heat treated and settled it sounded even better.

Yea , I have a cat. Not sure if it is factory or aftermarket though. It came on the car when I bought it.

The muffler is 2 1/2 in and 2 1/2 out. Summit has it for $95.

Re: Oh no... I didn't want this

Well, I must say - The new exhaust is growing on me. I listened to all the clips in the sticky again (this time with my stereo hooked to my computer and turned way up) and it seems that most of them sound very similar to mine - pretty raspy. Not all of them, though. I'll let it burn in for a while and see what happens. If I still don't like it, I think I'm gonna try a Dynomax Super Turbo next.

At any rate, I love the new found hp. I never imagined there would be such a dramatic increase. Maybe my old exhaust was clogged up somewhere, I dunno.

Today, I'm gonna tackle the fuel pump. I should've had the guys at the exhaust shop do it when the exhaust was out, but completely forgot about it. So I am going to attempt the trap door method. I want my gas guage back.

Bah, you'll be happy with your set. You'd probably have stabbed your ear canal with a spoon by now if you had a TSP Rumbler :)

embrace the rasp! Porsches are raspy as piss and people love the way they sound. At least you are doing the exhaust right. All the guys making good numbers are running 3 inch!
