Okay I need everbodys opiion on this. I am planning on putting a turbo setuo on my car somtime in the near future so a full exhaust is not really the best way to go. I was thinkin about it and then sat down and looked at the car and I think I can run old style sidepipes, kinda like those on an older vette, right underneath the doors. Other than cuttin out a place for the pipe to come out from underneath I can't see anything that would prevent me from doing this. Is there anything, outside of the legal issues, that could prevent me from doing this that i havn't seen yet. I realize that this would require ALOT of work but Im up for it mostly cuz I've never seen it done on a fourth gen before and cuz it would look awsome. Any suggestions or any probs you guys think I'll come across?

I have a pretty good estimate of around 400-500 for the chrome pipes, cuz they have to be chrome, but other than that i dont have the cost figured out yet. Id like to get them done before the turbo goes in just to see how they sound on the car. The bigest cost i can see would be the cuts and new splash-gaurds that Id have to make because Id want them to come out right behind the front tires, kinda make a quarter oval hole in the base right there for the pipe to come out of. I dunno the only other thing are the hangers for the pipe.

let me know how it goes , i have been thinking of doing that, right now im building my own 3'' system, theoretically taking the bends out of the system going over the axle would make it flow better. but i need a small muffler to fit in the tunel96 RS dark green, 1st drag race ever 8/6/04 r/t .126, 1/4..16.142, mph..83.65, home made 3\" exhaust(ill post pics soon)turbo muffler, home made CAI
http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/666045

ive seen it before and i thought it looked just plain goofy. i think if youre going to do side exhaust you need to hide the pipes and just have the tips coming out the side. the best look is to get gfx and cut an opening in them, where the tips stick through at an angle. big chrome pipes running down the sides of our cars look way out of place.
