  • IAT ECT sensor modules

Put one of these cheap things on my car but im worried about affects it may have. It did give me a bit of an extra punch though. They are all over ebay. Anyone know anything about these things? Take a look ---> http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...spagename=WDVW

Where is that installed? Is this similar to the SLP IAT part?

it's an air intake sensor, it's installed into a plug that is originally plugged right into the side of my intake. yes very similar

Does this trick the computer into thinking there is more air coming in? Does the sensor even have to be in the intake to work?

i think rksport.com sells a similar product...i think it tricks the computer into thinking that the air coming in is a certain amount of degrees colder...and then somehow it adjusts the air/fuel ratio...im not positive but i think thats how it works

All it is going to be is a risistor that you stick in the place of your iat sensor it's a rip off. You can go to radio shake a buy the same risitor for like 15 cents

What kind of resistor does it use? And how does it work?

DO NOT DO IT. The gains are nothing. You basicly put a resistor on the end of your IAT sensor. This tricks the CPU into thinking its like 20 degrees outside and makes you run as rich as allowed (to compensate for the rich air). You get shatty gas mileage and poor gains. It killed my cat from running soo rich.
