  • Pacesetter Headers, My Experience::

    Well, I ordered the Pacesetter Ceramic Coated Headers with the Ceramic Coated Y-Pipe from summitracing.com two days ago, they got here earlier today, free shipping, only $9 handling. Total cost was $327. Here is a description of the package that arrived:

    2 Ceramic Coated Headers, one with the Pacesetter Logo, both with O2 Sensor Bungs

    1 Ceramic Coated Y-Pipe w/O2 Sensor Bung

    1 Box of Bolts/Supplies

    1 Set of Gaskets

    1 Warranty Letter

    About the headers::

    What can I say, they are absolutely gorgeous! Im dying to get them on the car. The ceramic coating covers them completely on the outside, covers the ball joint at the bottom and the flange, and also completely covers the flange at the engine, oh and the egr connection is there for anyone who hasnt gotten rid of their EGR valve. Absolutely beautiful.

    About the Y-Pipe::

    Perfect. By perfect I mean, fully ceramic coated, setup for ball joints at the connection with the header, has an adjustable driver side connection to the header so it can be adjusted to fit perfectly, and the O2 sensor bung is in the factory location and the collector is pre-enlarged for a slip fit. No complaints at all.

    Overall::

    From what I had heard, the main problems with the Pacesetters were that the connections leaked a little where the flanges were and that the flanges weren't thick enough. Apparently Pacesetter cares about their customers b/c the set I got addressed all of these issues, there were the ball joints which are awesome and the flanges are super thick, they wont be bending or twisting at all, and they're pretty too with the ceramic coating! Assuming they bolt up to the heads correctly, which shouldnt be a problem, I'd happily recommend these headers/y-pipe to anyone as they seem to be very well made and the problems have been addressed, and did I mention they are beautiful?

    Links already dead.

    Check all the O2 bungs. On mine they were not welded on correctly, which resulted in the inability to screw in the sensor. http://home.cfl.rr.com/mkaprocki/Camaro/O2Bung.jpg

      Links are working for me just fine, and im hoping the sensor bungs are in right, that would suck to have to start chopping the headers up after they were coated.

            Links worked fine here, click and view. Everything looks great. Have fun installing them. Hardest part I had during install was getting the heat shields off of the old manifolds.

                    I'm actually having a new engine put in right now and the headers and y-pipe will be going in when the engine does and he's not charging more to do it! :D Check out my cardomain site for info on the new engine.
