  • Need help with what to do after buying a muffler

I want to buy a flowmaster 3inch inlet/dual 3inch outlet, because I can get it for around 60. Now what other parts do I need from the cat back in order. Cat, then over axle, I pipe, then muffler, then tail pipes, then tips? How much will I be looking to spend for all the pipes not including the cat and the tips. If you could provide a part list with prices that would be great. This would be a full three inch sytem from cat outlet back. Also should I get a 3inch inlet cat or go with 2.5 inlet/3inch outlet. What would be easier to put on. Thanx a lot.

Ok, get a 3" in, 3" out cat, then the S-pipe (you can make one from a 3" U-pipe cut in half, then flip one of the ends around and you have an S) Be sure to get a O2 sensor bung from SLP and have it welded into the S-pipe if you want to retain use of the O2 sensor. After the S-pipe, there's the I-pipe, then the over-axle pipe going into the muffler, then tailpipes and tips.

The cost is going to depend on what type of catback system you want. I know the U-pipe you need to make the S-pipe is about $18 from Jeg's. The sensor bung from SLP is like $10, and you can pick up some pretty sweet-looking Magnaflow chrome tips for about $50-$60 a pair. I have the 3" Flowmaster American Thunder system, but I would not recommend it. It creates a lot of interior resonance inside the car. Something has come loose inside my muffler, and it rattles horribly, even at idle. So I'll be replacing it with a Hooker muffler very very soon.......Anyway, hope this helps.

Yah it helps a lot, I had the idea, just needed to hear it from someone else. What about tailpipes, which 90 degree bend should I get in length, I would assume pretty short
