Offset wrenches are your friend when installing headers. I also used some long bolts, cut the heads off(approx 2" long) in the first and last holes, smaller than the actual holes so you can just pull them out.
This way I could apply some Ultra Copper high temp RTV to both sides of the gaskets, slip them over the cutoff bolts and press them to the heads. Then slip the headers over the cutoff bolts and get the threads started on the header bolts. Dont tighten them down completely until all the bolts are threaded and hand tightened, and work from the center out. This makes for a very clean install. Also make sure the RTV has had a couple minutes to "scale" up as it says on the directions, and dont crank down on the header bolts initially, just snug them up.
Then continue installing the Y-pipe and what not. After thats done start the engine, let it idle for a about a minute or so, turn it off let it cool and retighten the header bolts.
Hope that helps some.....
Here are the offset wrenches I was refering to.
