lol, study and listen to sound clips and read peoples opinions when they get systems. if you do it right, it can turn out pretty good. just to remind all, you will never sound like a v8. ifs thats your goal. dont touch your exhaust cause it would be a waiste of a disapointment
I would suggest the american thunder cat back made for the v6. It comes with a resonater witch helps with the ricey sound. I think alot of people dont like their exhaust because they get V8 exhaust and dont put a resonator so it pops and sounds bad.good luck.
main goal is to gain a little performance. I have no desire to make it crazy loud. quiet is fine with me if I can get a little more flow. I have the Y87 package with the factory duals. just figured there might be a little gain to be had over the factory setup. maybe if I add a bullet style muffler in place of the catalytic converter?
if it sounds like some of the exhausts I have heard I will probably weld 6 mufflers in line to shut it up.
because the exhaust that I have heard give new meaning to raspy as hell.
Would someone please define "rasp". I hear that word used here all the time but I don't think anyone knows what it means. I have no idea if my exhaust is raspy since I don't know what it means.
I will tell you that my exhaust sounds about 1000 times better than any 4 cyl with a fart can.
V8's are not the only cars that have exhaust systems that sound good. It is all relative.
I can just hear Viper owners now, "Man, that V8 just doesn't have enough displacement, sounds raspy as hell!"

It's not what you do to your exhaust to sound like a v8. It's what you do to your motor while you have exhaust. :D
\'99 SSM Camaro V6 M5
(mod list on cardomain site; too long to list here)
http://www.cardomain.com/id/v6cam99
Not matter what you will get a little rasp, that is because we have a v6, and yes v8's have a bit of rasp to.
It wont matter what exhaust you run, it will depend on the supporting mods that you have with it that will determin the amount of rasp that you will get.
And as for waht exahust, go with the american thunder and a high flow-cat. It will behave a nice mellow muscle tone.
Too many mods to list! To see what I have done, check out my car domain website -->
http://www.cardomain.com/id/2k2firebird21
