• Air scoop for the 95-97 SLC CAI complete!

Okay, I decided to rig up something to get more air at the filters of my CAI, but i'm kinda lazy, so I wandered around the local Home Depot and in about 15 mins, I found a piece of aluminum piping that had a triangular scoop with screen on it that looked perfect!

After about 10 mins of cutting, another 5 drilling and an hour of getting the right bolts and fitting the thing on(including some travel time), I have a new air scoop!

I'm hitting the track next week and am going to make a few passes without it, and then bolt her on to see exactly what (if any) difference it makes...

so stay tuned.
here are some pics.... scroll right to the bottom of the page.

Thats a nice car by the way, i have a black RS and u have done some of the things that i want to do to my car.

On those black for the lights, was it hard to put them on, does the light still shine through(what color is it)where did u get them and how much, and have any cops said anything to you about it.??? I know these are some dumb questions, sorry for asking so much

Thanks guys.. i'm looking forward to my next race day.

Edgejme, are you asking about the turn signals? A little light shines around them, but they still look soo good. I HATE the amber colour!

Get them! RKSPORT.com... Get them now! :D

I've had something that looks exactly like that on my car for a while. I noticed no gain with it on. It does suck better though (sound wise)

Mine is a little wider though too. And I cut some of the air deflector off.

I had one. Never ran without it so I don't know if it did anything or not. Then one day I go to change my oil and it's gone..didn't even notice it...

I cut some of that air dam off too. A little off both sides didn't hurt anything as far as I know.

hey, by the way ravenp. I noticed you have the B&M electronic shift improver. Im sure you know everyone on this board's opinion of it, but have you personally experienced any problems with it?

I dont' believe in that method anymore I tried that when I got the Air Temp Module from SLP that advertised 5 hp. I swore I felt it... i've learned a lot in the last 2 years

I drove around the airport that my friend helped me install it and it did feel strong, but not the kind of gains that are easily noticeable.

I'm hitting the track sunday. I"ll let you know the difference between my runs with it on and the ones with it off.

I've the B/M on for over 2 years. I've had no problems although I only use a couple times a month.

My experience is that it helps with partial throttle driving, holding the gear longer. On the track it has made no difference for me.

To do it over I would get the Transgo and vette servo from what i've heard, but this was a cool first mod for a beginner.
