That's actually kinda clean. Mine had all kinds of carbon buildup at 70k miles. I took the whole TB apart and cleaned it, and it ran much better.
But, to answer your question: yes, that looks normal.
Your maf looks different than mine. Other than that I don't see anything wrong.

Since I have a cam in the near future, I want to get the car in optimal condition first. Does the plate look like it is in the wrong position? Also, how to you open and close the plate? On our Jeep it has a cable that you pull, this looks all electronic. Should I do anything to it? How? Thanks all.

Uh, your MAF sensor is missing its housing. The black plastic shroud should extend a good 1/2 of the way down into the throttle body. You can see the resistors going across it are exposed and it looks like the rest of the shroud was broken off. That is bad. If ANYTHING happens to slip by your air filter and whack those resistors, bye bye MAF and hello ~$200 for a new one from GM.
It looks to me like perhaps a previous owner of your car broke it off in an attempt at better airflow through the throttle body. If u bought ur car new, um, I have no idea.
