So i was playing around with my intake last night, just taking stuff off and driving around and i have two questions to ask.
1-in the air lid if you look where it connects to the rubber that connects to the tb, you know where the air lid goes into an oval shape. Anyways in the middle of the oval shape there is a plastic peice going straight down, anyways if i were to cut that out and smooth it would that be benificial or not, cause i dont know if it is there to quite the car down or swirl air or what not, just wondering if i should cut it or not.
2- I took of the intake lid and filter and drove around for like 5 mins or so, i know its bad but o well, seemed to let the car beath ALOT better top end, so here is my question. What if i leave it off and just buy some cheap cone filter for like 10 bucks and stick it in there? Would that be bad, cause in my thinking it would eliminate most of the restriction and you would have a sort of short ram air intake?
3-In the engine bay for the air intake system, it goes from the lid, to the rubber part attached to the lid, to that weird looking plastic thing that looks kind of like two distorted spheres, to another rubber part, to the tb. What is the purpose of that stupid plastic thing? What will happen if i just take it out? Just wondering cause i dont want to rip stuff off and hurt my car. It looks like just another thing to quite the car down, so is it chill if i rip it off?
I am asking all of these questions casue i want to get a little more power with spending next to nothing, if there are some better free/cheap things i can do or fabercate please tell me. Thankyou.
