Has anyone ever put one of those electronic exhaust cut-outs on there car?? I was just wondering because I've had good and bad reviews...some simple say it sounds like ****, so I'm looking for opinions, lol be blunt. Anyway the idea striked me because I'm going for the sleeper concept. I've got a system from a z28 on mine now which isn't loud at all...I want to have my car kinda quiet like it is now because I drive mine everyday, but I still want to be able to show my *** if need be.

Oh yeah another little question...the exhaust shop I went to when I got the z's system decided to put the pipe two pipes together with one inside the other "one's a little smaller" and just welded them together.....other than just looking cheap does this pose andy performance, safety, etc. issues?? I check very well for leaks and there are none so I'm not sure what to think.....

The motor gearset on my DMH Performance valve broke 3 times before I sent it back for a refund. The guy was real easy to work with!
The motor/gearset on my McCord Power Plate has held up fine but it leaks since there's not a good seal around the shaft. It can probably be fixed with some RTV Red though...
My recent problem with my MPP is the screws holding the plate onto the shaft broke and my plate fell off. It's an easy fix and I didn't feel like sending it back for warranty repair... I just haven't taken the time to replace the screws. :rolleyes:Jason McCallister, Founder & Webmaster
West Tennessee F-Body Association, Inc.

2000 Camaro - Details

Do NOT weld in the electronic valve. You will void the warranty!! The valve will bolt up to a cutout with 3 bolts/nuts.Jason McCallister, Founder & Webmaster
West Tennessee F-Body Association, Inc.

2000 Camaro - Details

If it matters the lid to my cut out fell off going down the highway the other day...It was like $30 to replace from summit (had to buy another cut out) If that happened to an electric cutout it would suck having to replace it if the wire broke or something else after being dragged along the roadBen

1995 White/Black 3.4L
As far away from stock as possible
My Site!!!
RedLineV6
Rebuild and 3.4 T70 Turbo is complete
Details to come....

those of us with the borla catback find that the electronic cutout is much easier to use than crawling under the car to change plates (and no i cant run full open all the time).
i have the mccord power plate (i did have to trim/grind the flange on the borla a bit to get proper operation though).
