Has anyone with the adjustable cat-back thrown a bullet muffler or a resonator on the i-pipe to keep the growl but quiet it down a bit? I made a custom plate with a .75" opening that I run and it sounds great...but once I get to around 80 or so, i start getting a little drone. Otherwise I love the set-up. Opinions....
By the way, I haven't put on headers or a high-flow cat yet, so I know that will make it even a little louder.
Eclipse 8443, CDT ES-620s in doors (Clarion APX401.2), IEK, CDT 6X in rear(HU), Image Dynamics ID10v.3D.4 in stealthbox(Clarion DPX1001.2)
http://www.sounddomain.com/id/larryfirebird33
borla cat-back, FTRA, whisper lid
When I installed my headers, I replaced the cat with a bullet muffler. I now have to run the Borla fully closed because the with the Borla open at all, it's very obnoxious in the upper RPM band and very, VERY LOUD!
With the headers & !cat, it sounds more like a 6 cylinder (higher RPM's) than it did with a cat and no headers. However, without the cat installed the drone has moved from the front of the car to the rear of the car where it should be. I no longer get headaches while driving down the road and it's not impossible to keep a conversation going with the windows up.
IMHO, the bullet muffler added more rasp to the exhaust system or at least didn't help to remove any. If I had to do it again, I'd probably install a nice quality cat (not a POS Catco) instead of the bullet muffler and then take the pickup on long trips instead of the Camaro! ;)
Haven’t done anything on the Camaro, but put LEDs on my truck headlights . And my oil pressure sensor went out on the truck so going to fix that this...
