• Custom cold air intake

Made myself a custom cold air intake. This is 10x better than my short ram, it isnt as loud but since i used a huge intake pipe i not only made lots of low end torque but i also am making a ton more power above 5k rpm, instead of strugling for breath, she pulls hard all the way until redline. Anyways i put the air temp sensor in my intake pipe and did someother stuff to get everyting to fit. If anyone wants detail i will exsplain everyting. So here are some pic of what it looks like. Very plain and simple.

is that even mounted to anything or does it just dangle there? I dont think it would be much of a cold air intake sitting right in front of the radiator. Theres no way that could be effective with all that hot air blowing into the filter.

i'd like to see some before/after dyno runs.

Yes it mounted and sealed in...the filter is all the way underneath the radiator, i guess that you cant see it in the pics but it is scooping up cold air that is coming underneath the vehicle. Trust me it is effective, i did some before and after rolls against my crx, and the intake makes a huge difference.

i seriously believe the stock type setup would work better than that on the 99+ straight TB's, all u did was put huge bend...however on the 95-98's w/the angled TB i believe it would work better because the TB points that direction anyways...im thinkin about trying a setup like that on my 98 except go all the way down to the air dam and just use it as a track setup...

The intake reaches all the way under the car, and i am about to weld a air bypass valve in to protect from the rain. And what you cant see is that the pipe that i used isnt staight, it curves right up to the throtal body and fits like a glove, just put the rubber thing there as protection just in case. Trust me i have tested this intake out and it works great.

What is the Size of the Intake Pipe and where did you get it?

What is the cost of everything that is required?

I originally did this for fun, but now that this intake is making so much power, torque, and sounds so awsome, not to metion the jump in fuel millage, i have decied to make it more custom and sell it. I am going to get the kit dyno tested so that i can post the gains and then i am going to sell it for a fraction of the cost of what it would otherwise cost to do a induction system with filter and lid. Give me a week or 2 and i will start selling it. I am going to figure out how much it is going to cost to ship it and make it a prefect fit, and then sell it.

dude...the mind is a crazy thing...and you'd be amazed what results you get when you think you did something good...

in other words, I highly doubt there's really a performance difference, and deffinitely not as much as you say so.

IMO, you were trying to sell it from your first post. In every one of your posts in here you sound like a salesman.

a before & after dyno will prove that.

I will get that in a little while, i need to put a air bypass valve in there, and bend the pipe a little more so that it fits perfectly to the intake manifold...then i am going to get it dynoed. That and the throtal body.

Keep in mind that you want the path that the air travels through to be smooth. I don't think that the ribbed dryer ductwork helps the airflow too much. Also, the front air dam in front of the radiator is meant to push the air under the front of the car up and over the radiator. With the air filter behind the air dam, how much air is really being forced to the filter. You may wanna think about putting in somewhere is will bring in colder air and from a low pressure source.

The pipe is connected to the tb, the rubber is just there as a suport, it is where i attached the mettle screw things. The intake is pretty low and gets really good airflow...no wories we will see what it makes on the dyno.
