  • Y87 Muffler ??

If you know for sure, please respond. This is bugging me. I have a 02 F/B with the Y87 package. Is the muffler I have the same as a Trans Am stock
    muffler?

    No. LS1 has 2.75" inlet pipe. V6 is 2.25".

Actually the inlet on the LS1 is 2.5. The inlet on the stock v6 is 2.25. I already know that as I have both mufflers. What I really want to know, is the LS1 a freer breathing/louder muffler than the Y87 muffler? This seemingly easy question is a lot harder to confirm than I thought. Any muffler experts out there?

      Thanks

shouldn't be much difference in flow rate if any.

A 1/4" isn't that big a deal when you're not planning on modding your car to hell. But if ever decide to do a power adder or aftermarket HC you'll regret using anything less than 3" all the way back.
